What is a Film Critique?

post1.JPGBasically a film critique is an evaluative and reasoned analysis of a movie where the discussion revolves about the characteristics of the film that contributes to its effectiveness and significance as a form of artwork with explanation and at times illustration of every point. Some considerations that are taken into account are the film’s implications and messages based on a cultural point of view and the cinematic qualities it exhibited.

Other qualities that you can look for are how it relates to the truth about human nature, struggles for human dignity and the philosophical or moral undertones. Even animated films contain this since most animated films present a parallelism to real life that is imbedded in the story.
